District Profile

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District is comprised of the entire city of Brecksville, most of Broadview Heights, and a small segment of North Royalton. The district population approximates 25,000.

Approximately 4,000 students are enrolled in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District and attend classes in our one high school (9-12), one middle school (6-8) and new PreK-5 elementary school.  High school students may attend the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center for a comprehensive career-preparedness experience, which is located in Brecksville.

Student achievement is evident throughout the school system. The District has consistently earned 5 stars on the State of Ohio Report Card, since these rankings began on state testing and other criteria.  The district has earned National Blue Ribbon awards from the U.S. Department of Education at the High School, Middle School and elementary levels over the years, most recently, with the High School earning this high achievement for the second time in 2024. Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School was named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education, one of only 349 school districts nationwide to receive such a prestigious honor. Various other publications, including U.S. News and World Report, have ranked our buildings among the very highest rated in Northeast Ohio for many year. Additionally, for the past 60 consecutive years, Brecksville-Broadview Heights seniors have qualified as National Merit Scholars.   The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District has received the highest possible rating on the state-mandated District Report Card since its debut in 2000.

Students distinguishing themselves in other areas – artistic and athletic – bring home numerous awards from the many competitions entered. The district is a member of the Suburban Athletic Conference. Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School is home to the Bees Gymnastics team, winner of twenty-two consecutive state championships, as well as the 2023 VEX Robotics World Champion Robotics Team.  Our Robotics Teams consistently win state championships and advance yearly to the world competitions. Other valued student organizations include our award winning music, orchestra, and performing arts teams, 

The school district enjoys tremendous cooperation and support of an active Parent School Organization (PSO), music and athletic booster groups, the Cities of Brecksville and Broadview Heights, and many civic and community organizations.
